The forensic laboratory analyst performs complete laboratory analysis of forensic samples in the area of seized drugs. Complete analysis includes maintaining chain of custody, processing cases, review of data and report generation. Expert testimony will be provided as needed. In addition to performing analysis of case samples, quality control procedures are followed and troubleshooting of instrumentation takes place when needed. The forensic laboratory analyst maintains compliance with accreditation standards and the laboratory’s quality management system. All work is to be performed in an unbiased, objective manner. The forensic laboratory analyst supports the mission of the laboratory and the Office of the District Attorney as necessary.
In addition to laboratory work, the forensic laboratory analyst will be on call and perform evidence collection, documentation, and presumptive testing at crime scenes as needed.
