JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose: The Summer Food Service Associate will be responsible for the operation of multiple summer food service site locations. The Associate will generally work in teams to transport and distribute meals.  Additionally, the Associate will perform all essential duties to ensure compliance of USDA meal service regulations while representing Children’s Hunger Alliance in a professional manner and providing a positive experience for children and families.

 

 

 

 





RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport meals using an agency provided vehicle and/or accept meal deliveries at assigned meal distribution locations.
  • Ensure successful distribution of Summer Food Service meals to participants in accordance with regulations for recordkeeping, food safety, and safety protocols for COVID-19.
  • Implement, follow, and maintain safety protocol for staff, volunteers, and program recipients.
  • Assist with packaging multi-meal packs and loading/re-loading boxes of shelf-stable meals and meal packing, as needed.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are accessible for use, properly maintained, stored, and secured.
  • Ensure all records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date and submit timely reports as required.
  • Ensure all programs and services are delivered on-time and in accordance with regulations.
  • Provide support to outside community groups and staff who may provide additional resources for distribution in conjunction with meal service.
  • Perform outreach via community flyers and signage and work with local community groups to increase program participation, as needed.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team and individual meetings and trainings.
  • Communicate with agency staff and supervisors to make recommendations for processes that will lead to optimal operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and shared success
  • Monitor summer feeding sites in region to ensure compliance is upheld at non mobile sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a community setting and with community members from varying backgrounds
  • Positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm, team player, and commitment to positive youth development
  • Valid Ohio drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Must pass a criminal background screen and driving history check resulting in a clean driving record
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds to/from vehicles, and to/from distribution sites
  • Able to navigate Microsoft Office Suite
