JOB DESCRIPTION

Social Service Non-Profit is currently seeking a qualified supervisor to oversee the finances of Community Access Unlimited Inc. members.

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly organized self-starter with a related degree, previous supervisory and Rep Payee experience preferred. He or she must be detail-oriented and must have strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with AccuFund accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities include coordinate efforts of department staff and assist in performing all functions required for the efficient operation of the accounting department, with particular attention given to maintaining a high level of quality and to complete assignments on a timely basis. 
 
Bachelor's degree and three years in related experience preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide effective supervision to subordinate staff
  • Ensure compliance with Social Security Administration and regulations
  • Maintain bank accounts for the participants of the Representative Payee program
  • Ensure Accounts Payable operates in accord with accounting policies and procedures
  • Develop, revise and implement policies and procedures
  • Ensure receipts are posted timely and accurately
  • Provide software and technical support for Representative Payee program and processes
  • Interface with supervisor on internal control policies, internal audit functions, tax filing, independent audit functions and accounting projects
  • Prepare for year-end audit and financial statement preparation.
  • Interface with government agencies and auditors
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Experience with business applications a plus, such as payroll and accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Car to use for work purposes
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Three years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
