JOB DESCRIPTION
Employee will "Delight Shoppers" by providing excellent customer service in keeping with our Motto, Mission Statement, Stauffers Standard, and Core Values.  They will operate with integrity by taking responsibility for their actions and being truthful in all interactions.  And they will develop strong business relationships by interacting with others in a manner that creates a pleasant and professional working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Records prices and departments, subtotals taxable items, and totals purchases on cash register.
  • Collects cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash transactions.
  • Bags Groceries.
  • Counts money in cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift.
  • Records daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance cash drawer.
  • Reviews sales fliers weekly to be aware of advertised specials.
  • Gathers and stocks grocery carts in the prescribed manner, where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Basic math skills, such as adding/subtracting multiple digit numbers, units of weight, and/or U.S. currency
  • Able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
