Employee Referral
A job applicant will now be required to enter the name of the employee who referred him/her to the job, if the ‘Employee Referral’ entry is selected from the ‘How did you hear about us?’ section of the job application. When the job applicant clicks ‘Employee Referral’ from the drop-down menu, a text box will appear as a required entry. The name the applicant enters in this field will then appear in the applicant’s file on the hiring manager’s desktop. That entry will become a permanent part of the applicant’s file.
Internal Postings
You may now elect to identify and activate any position in your library as an internal job opportunity. By doing so, that position will appear on your company website’s ‘Internal Openings’ link under the Careers/Jobs button/link (which your webmaster must install). To set up any position as an internal one, simply duplicate the position (from the Create Template) link, check the ‘Post as Internal Job Opportunity’ radio button when building the position, and develop the question sets accordingly. The internal postings will not flow to the job boards, nor will those positions show on your public Careers/Jobs link – they will only appear on the Internal Openings selection of the dropdown for viewing by your company’s employees.
Instant Advertisement
The Craigslist Ad link that appears next to the post pin when a position is posted live has been improved in several ways. ‘Craigslist Ad’ has been changed to ‘Instant Ad’ in order to accommodate/facilitate advertising on Craigslist, paid job boards, and/or social media. You may now modify the ad by simply typing the desired text and clicking ‘Save This Advertisement’. This will save the newly-customized text for the specific position. In addition, click ‘Copy to Clipboard’ and the ad text and position link will highlight in blue, signifying the ad is ready to be pasted. This new functionality provides you a means to customize each of the position advertisements in your library in order to supplement the ads that will automatically appear on Indeed, Simply Hired, and the US Government’s Veterans’ Job Board.
EEO Lock
A hiring manager is not permitted to view EEO information associated with a given job applicant according to a US Government mandate. With that, an EEO Lock has been installed on the Permissions module (Path: ADMIN – PERMISSIONS -- EEO LOCK). The Level 1 Administrator now has the ability to provide EEO Report access to only select individuals. By checking (or not selecting) the block of a named individual under the EEO Lock tab, the Level 1 Admin may grant (or restrict) access to the report.
Automatic Posting Refresh
Up until now, positions posted on a given date simply aged in place. The older the posting became, the less effective it was in terms of Internet job board visibility – and applicant traffic diminished over time. Beginning now, each posted position will automatically refresh every 30 days (provided Automatic 30-Day Refresh is activated in Settings). Existing job applicants in the applicant queue will remain in place for continued processing and new job applicants will appear as a result of the refreshed posting and Internet ad. This new feature refreshes the postings on Indeed, Simply Hired, and the US Government’s Veterans’ Job Board.
National Resource Directory
The National Resource Directory (NRD) is the US Government’s Veterans’ Job Board. The NRD nrd.gov is a partnership among the Departments of Defense, Labor, and Veterans Affairs. This site offers/promotes a job board to wounded warriors, active duty, retired military members, and their families around the world. Hyrell clients’ job postings now appear on the NRD job board. One click of the job title links a veteran (and/or dependents) directly to your job opening and application process.
