The My Positions tab showcases all Posted and Paused positions for your hiring system, along with relevant statistics to help keep track of their growth and development in obtaining applicants. The following terms will be displayed at all times (new positions show zero stats at time of Posting):
Applicants New/Active: Indicates how many applicants received to your position are brand new and yet to be Reviewed by any User (New), and the total amount of applicants you've received so far which have neither been Hired or Rejected (Active).
- "New" applicants appear in bold, colored text along with the default Last Action of "Unopened." As soon as any User clicks on their application, their name will change to black, normal text and the "New" count will decrease by (1). It is not possible to have a New count higher than Active.
- "Active" applicants will have been reviewed at least once before and remain Active until the final determination of being either Rejected or Hired is made. Active applicants can be in any step or Stage of your hiring process, as no final determination on their submission has been made just yet.
Queries: Indicates the amount of times your Posted position has been clicked on from either your Careers page or from appearing on the job boards we feed to. This automatically increases by (1) every time the position is clicked. In general, this number is useful to see how much visibility your position is receiving and to help determine what type of applicant conversion success you are having with your position. Both New and Self Eliminated applicants count as (1) Query, since the position must have been reviewed in order to click the "Apply" button.
Self Eliminated: Indicates the amount of applicants who reviewed your position, clicked "Apply," but then chose NOT to complete the application process. The system does not track at which phase of your application the candidate dropped off.
With regards to Self Eliminates, all of the common reasons for why a potential candidate does not complete a traditional physical application hold true. Common examples to consider are as follows:
- Elected to save/return to it later (either need more time or need to verify information) - they will count as Self Eliminate until they complete the full application
- Believed they were qualified, but upon reviewing/answering pre-screening questions, determined they weren't in fact qualified
- Believed they were interested in the position, but after reviewing/answering pre-screening questions and job details, determined they weren't interested
- Application too long and/or not worth time investment relative to position/compensation offered
If your Self Eliminated count is high in comparison to your Query count, it may be an indicator that the position template you've created may be too complex, too time-consuming, or include redundancies. It may be best to then modify your position to see if your general conversion rates improve.
Rejected: Indicates the total amount of applicants Rejected for the position. The "Reject" Action can be taken from within any application by clicking on the Reject tab, or from within the Applicant Queue by selecting an applicant, clicking Take Action, then choosing "Reject." Once an applicant has been Rejected, they will automatically be moved to the "Rejected" Stage.
Hired: Indicates the total amount of applicants Hired for the position. The "Hire" Action can be taken from within any application by clicking on the Hire tab after an Offer has been accepted, or from within the Applicant Queue by selecting an applicant, clicking Take Action, then choosing "Hire." Once an applicant has been Hired, they will automatically be moved to the "Hired" Stage. Likewise, the system will ask you if you would like to leave the position Open (continue recruiting in Posted status), or if you would like to Close the position (by Unposting, thereby Rejecting all remaining Active applicants).
Note: Applicants are only classified as "Rejected" or "Hired" and moved to those columns when the corresponding Reject or Hire Actions are taken. Manually moving applicants to the "Rejected" or "Hired" Stage does not qualify, so it is important to actively Reject or Hire applicants in order to have accurate position and system data long term.
