I Automate My House, Why Don’t You Automate Your Recruiting?

Posted by Michael Macking October 3, 2013

Admittedly, I am one of those enthusiastic technology nerds that love to have the latest and greatest.  The nerd in me, the marketer in me, and the entrepreneur in me all love this newly focused attention on automation available for everyone.

As a self-professed nerd, I’ve installed a system to automate my home with some really cool lights, switches and sensors that are controlled by a computer and my smart phone.  It gives me a great sense of security when I travel and it’s a pretty cool party trick when I have guests over. But, it also saves me a decent amount of money on my monthly utility bill.  I can ensure that lights work efficiently by turning them on and off at certain times (dusk and dawn for outside lights).  And with the downloadable app for my phone, I can be sure that when I leave the house or go to bed at night, I’m not leaving any non-essential lights or appliances running.   I can even automatically set my thermostat to change throughout the day and night based on whether I am home, away, or even coming home after being away.   Now, that’s impressive!

The Marketer in me has fallen in love with the new Marketing Automation platforms.  Thankfully, I’m happy to say they won’t take my job anytime soon, but I do see the tangible benefits to automating the way we speak to customers, the way we listen to them, and the way we still create a 1 to 1 experience with each and every interaction.   Again, automation allows me to work more efficiently by setting up rules and plans and letting the computers do the processing.  And, of course, it saves me money by allowing me to focus on more important things that can’t be automated like strategy and planning.  The world of marketing is being changed daily based on technology and the ability to intelligently automate tasks and processes, and I’m all for it!

Lastly, Hiring & Recruiting Automation Platforms are offering the same benefits that I get by automating my home or my marketing – increased efficiency, more time to focus on important items, reduce costs and money saved.  These Recruiting Management Systems offer huge benefits for business owners of any size, and specifically small businesses – where efficiency is the key to everything!  It wasn’t long ago that these systems were only available for businesses like IBM or UPS or Google, and now any business can leverage them for a fraction of the costs!

So, Small Business Owners - I challenge you to see what all the hype is about. Learn how finding andprocessing applicants can be an easier process. Learn how a Virtual Interview can save you hours of “quick phone interviews” and how interview scheduling and reference verification tools free you from the chains of emails, phone calls and, yes, faxes. If this sounds like the automation you’re looking for, let us know.  We’re happy to guide you through the process!
